I have read the reviews of 90% of customers that rated Pottery Barn as "bad," and I fully understand where they are coming from. However, I am basing my review on only one transaction that occurred this month and the outcome of that transaction.
I ordered a 9' x 12' Persian style carpet, and then later decided to order a carpet pad. I spoke with a very knowledgeable and well-informed customer support rep, who assured me that the carpet pad helps in the long-term (both in terms of slippage as well as protection and in adding a little extra depth to the pile). I informed Pottery Barn I needed the carpet pad before the carpet was actually delivered. Within one week, the pad arrived, and I was able to position it in my living room where my sofa, two chairs, and coffee table are located.
Within one additional week, I was notified that the carpet would be delivered on a specific day. Pottery Barn uses an app that targets the exact hour and minute so the customer can start tracking the time on the day of delivery. I was truly amazed at the fact that the delivery truck arrived at the precise time that was scheduled - to the minute! Then the delivery person, Kyle, hoisted the 98-pound rug over his shoulders with single-handed confidence and placed it on my front porch. He was polite, friendly, and conversant. I could not have asked for a better delivery process or delivery rep.
I was able to take the rug inside my LR and roll it over the carpet pad. The Persian style carpet is made of wool and is of high quality. It looks great in my LR.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with the way Pottery Barn handled my orders. I empathize with customers who have had negative experiences, but it seems that if Pottery Barn got it this right with me, the company could do the same with other customers. Perhaps they are trying to raise their standards as a result of negative customer feedback. I hope in the future Pottery Barn customers will see a change in transactional outcomes.
Really surprised to see all these one-star reviews. Pottery Barn has been GREAT for me. I wasn't happy with an item I purchased once it was in hand, and despite it being a made-to-order item, and well beyond their normal return window anyhow, due to extenuating circumstances they agreed to allow the return. I have been a life-long customer, and given their commitment to sustainability and style, and with this kind of service, they are the first place I go for housewares and furnishings.

I've just spoken to PotteryBarn customer service rep. named James. He was very polite and professional. I had to cancel an order from last year which I never heard back from PB regarding the status. He not only cancelled it for me for good but also let me purchase an item from West elm which is PB's sister company! It took a while to finish the call. But he had a very pleasant manner the whole time and I never felt rushed by him. I was very pleased and appreciative of his attentiveness. I never write reviews. But he was worth being mentioned to!
I love pottery barn! The quality has always been amazing. If I have to order something online I only trust pottery barn. I know it will be good solid furniture. But WHY does the furniture have to take F. O. R. E. V. E. R to arrive?
I purchased a towel bar, toilet paper holder, and a robe hook. The towel bar in robe hook were in stock and I paid for these items and $20.70 for shipping. I was told that the toilet paper hanger would be six months out due to being out of stock. I received the two items and I did not care for the quality or finish. I went online and started a refund and was sent a UPS return label. There is no indication that I would be charged for this return also. After checking my bank statement I realize I only really received credit for the towel bar. Both items were sent back in the original boxes and way of packaging that I receive them. Pottery barn said they were going to start an inquiry it would take three days. This should be interesting. It cost me over $40 to ship and return these items. I will never buy from Pottery Barn again.
My wife missed a sale and called them and they helped her get those same items and a pretty discounted price. When an item came slightly defective, they went above and beyond by giving us another discount. It seems like every time we call for some information or for some help they are going above and beyond and helping us. I had read horrible reviews but it's nice to know that it seems like they've shaken things up
Alway love pottery barns fast ship and quality but I ordered a table runner that was reversible. I assumed lighter color on one side and darker on other but it was actually two colors on top and reversed it was the same. I stilll love the table runner and will keep it but should have been more specific on a $69 purchase.
Brilliant furniture pieces and collections. In the last month I have ordered a side table, 2 lamps, and a bench. Fast quick delivery. I never wait more than week for delivery.

Overall OK. I had a typical online ordering experience, placed the order and it arrived. Shipping box was beat up, product OK and shipping was a bit on the slow side.
I ordered a bed spread on the 1rst and had it on the 4th. That's pretty impressive. I was also pleased with the accuracy of pictures and description. That's important when there are color choices for an item.

I placed an order May 14,2020. The order was a set of dishes. Part of the order was delivered which was dishes and salad plates. I chose this particular set due to the large-sized bowls. The order reads Backordered and the bowls would arrive Sept 16-18. I looked up my order and it now reads "estimated delivery Oct 8-12. There has been no email or anything from Pottery Barn. It's a good thing the set is not a gift and for me. I'm very disappointed with the long wait. They didn't charge me for the back ordered items
